What to Wear
The US was founded on a tradition of doing things our own way, so claim your stylistic independence by wearing accessories in fun and different ways. Wrap a summer scarf around neck, your waist, or your head for a cool summer look that says, “Like my forefathers before me, I do what I want.”
What to Do
Bright lights in the big sky! Fireworks light up every Fourth celebration, and give you an excuse to wear your sunglasses at night.
No matter where you live from sea to shining sea, you can look up into the night sky for some firework action. For those of you in the Big Apple, the sky will light up over the East River. Our Midwest friends in Chicago can catch the show at Navy Pier, and those of you livin’ the LA life can head over to the Rose Bowl, among other places.
What to Tote
Nothing is more American than blue jeans (history lesson: apple pie is a Dutch creation) - so carry your essentials in the pockets of your jeans (in denim tote bag form) like a true blue-blooded American.
What to Drink
Tequila. This colorful twist on the classic margarita from The Weary Chef puts the blue in your July Fourth ensemble, red in your cheeks, and stars in your sky. What You'll Need:
- 3 ounces fresh lime juice
- 5 ounces silver tequila
- 2 1/2 ounces blue curacao liqueur
- 2 ounces agave nectar, or to taste coarse salt for glass rim, optional
What to Listen To
Ladyhawke - A Love Song. She’s from New Zealand, but America loves imports!
